OpenDrive updates IP Management, Multiple User Option and Export Activity Logs

We are pleased to announce new updates for OpenDrive website. Here are the lists of updates which will give our users more convenience and great experience using OpenDrive.

We have 3 new updates released during the weekend.

1)      IP Management: Users can specify IP or range of IPs which can access and download their files.

This option is available in Settings. If they want to limit their files to only specific IPs,

they need to block whole world (IP range 0.0.0.0 to 255.255.255.255) and then allow only IPs they wish to access their files.

2)      Edit multiple users:  Account owner or account administrator can select multiple users in

Users tab and edit their space, bandwidth, permission rights or folders selected users may access.

3)      Export Activity logs:

Users can select activity logs for their account and export them into csv file.

 


OpenDrive June Updates for Website

Download selected files from OpenDrive folder
People you are sharing folder with can select specific files for download and download them in zip file.

 
 
 

Share and edit online up to 17 different types of files and documents
Share and edit office documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and other files (doc, docx, rtf, odt, sxw, htm, html, txt, xls, xlsx, ods, sxc, csv, tsv, ppt, pps, odp, sxi).

 
 
 

Updated thumbs for files with versions
Each file with multiple versions is now easier to recognize.

 
 
 

Replace existing file
If you want to keep URL link and just replace existing file with new one you can use Replace option available for each file stored on OpenDrive.

OpenDrive Updates a New Suite of Online Storage Features Designed for Security and User-Friendly Functionality

Aiming to provide a more user-friendly interface within its Web-based services, OpenDrive will roll out a variety of new feature enhancements, newest version, and easy functionality to its award-winning online service platform.

Palo Alto, California, April 11, 2012 –With its newly updated Graphic User Interface (GUI) launching this April 2012, OpenDrive.com’s new look will offer the company’s 1 million users a great improvement in productivity and ease of use for both businesses and personal activities. OpenDrive’s entire suite of products for the web, pc and mac desktop, iPhone and Android, will receive this facelift with an entire new set of features.

The new User Interface at OpenDrive is very straightforward, and uploading files to your OpenDrive account is made easier than before, especially the drag and drop option that is available. Once the file is uploaded, users are allowed to edit text processing documents, spreadsheets and presentations via online office suite.

The most noticeable improvement will be the slick new interface, however OpenDrive is getting a substantial boost under-the-hood with the release of dozens of new features. OpenDrive has announced that their plans will be able to offer more features than their competitors at substantially lower costs because of the improvements made to their data storage techniques.

Furthermore, OpenDrive’s apps will get following new features:

Enhanced File encryption, which is commonly used in file backup and unique for online storage service. OpenDrive creates folder “Secure files”, and files placed into this folder are encrypted by user’s custom key which resigns only on user’s computer or portable device. Files are encrypted with strong AES-256 encryption on-the-fly, meaning files are decrypted as you access them and modify them and then encrypted when saved or uploaded. All other files out of this folder will remain sharable and available through website or for collaboration with others.

Proxy settings, where a computer accelerates or filters communications between you and the Internet, allowing the user to connect to many businesses and institutions. Additional feature would be silent syncing or backup where user won’t be disturbed with notifications. Taskbar icon will show activity and provide syncing progress on demand. Users will be able to create and edit new text document, spreadsheet and presentation files right in OpenDrive.
